Local Squirrel Removal 336-240-9317 Greensboro, NC

I have been trapping squirrels and removing squirrels from attics, eaves and chimney spaces for many years. Though one squirrel removal always comes to mind when people ask my about my wildlife adventures.

It was half way into the fall season and I received a call about a squirrel that had chewed its way into a cabin attic in a near by state park. So I packed my truck with traps and other equipment I thought I may need. Better to have more than not enough I always say.

Tim the park ranger led my to the cabin and I could see right away the softball sized hole in the side of the cabin. Piece of cake I thought as I approached the cabin ladder in hand.

I threw up the ladder and began to climb with flashlight in hand to investigate the opening. Can anyone figure out were I made a mistake?

As I turned the flashlight on and peeked into the hole I found what I should have figured I would find, A squirrel and she was not happy!

Again it was half way thru fall and I had a bulky jacket on but it was unzipped so I could climb the ladder a little easier and as that light hit the squirrel she did what any scared squirrel would do. She tried to escape and escape she did. She ran out of the hole a crossed my chest and straight into the back of my jacket. Now I am a seasoned wildlife removal professional but when faced with a wild squirrel in your jacket against your skin and about twenty feet up in the air certain thoughts will run through your mind trust me!

I tried remain calm and eventually the squirrel worked its way out of my jacket and was gone. I climbed down the ladder to receive laughter and heckling from the rangers and learned a valuable lesson. Since then I trap the squirrel first and then investigate the damage.

Even squirrel removal can be dangerous and difficult. It is always best to have a professional to remove your squirrel problem. Trap , remove and then exclude the squirrel to prevent future occurrences .

I will always remember my first time trapping a raccoon mom and her pups out of an attic. It was a large home over 3500 square feet.  The attic had boards across the truss’ so it was pretty easy to maneuver in the attic thankfully for me. I was only in the attic a short time before I found the first signs of the raccoon living in the attic. Droppings or raccoon feces were piled up in a corner and as I have been trained I began to strategically place my traps.

I was so intent on what it was that I was doing that I did not notice the female raccoon in the other corner of the attic staring straight at me. She had her young not from from where I was setting traps and she was nervous!

As I was finishing I heard the tell tail noise of one angry raccoon and as I turned towards the noise I saw her as she was running across one of the boards right at me. I did they only thing I could! I scream and swung my flashlight at her and luckily she ran past and hid in the other corner with here young, growling loudly.

My heart beating fast and my nerves completely shot I left the attic to the mother raccoon till the next day. I have to tell you I was contemplating my choose at this career.

The next day though I found that the mother raccoon and all her young were trapped safely in the traps I placed.

That was several years ago but it goes to show at how dangerous a raccoon in the attic can be. When thinking about raccoon removal in Greensboro, NC it is best to use a Professional!

skunk removal in Greensboro North Carolina can be very difficult due to the chance of being sprayed while trying to remove the trap. I have not been sprayed when trapping a skunk so far though I know a few fellow wildlife techs that have been, so that goes to show if a professional can get sprayed the likelihood of a do-it-yourselfer getting sprayed is almost assured.

Skunk control by skunk repellants almost never work and and decoys like coyote decoys do not work either.

Skunks are often found under decks and in the crawlspace, usually to find shelter or a safe place to have babies. Skunk under the deck or a skunk in the hvac system in the crawlspace can be excluded after trapped by a local wildlife company such as The Wildlife Professionals in Greensboro NC.

Nuisance Raccoon Removal in Greensboro, NC

In Greensboro as a community one never thinks about noises in the attic as being a raccoon infestation in the attic. Raccoon removal or raccoons in the attic is a normal call for Greensboro nuisance wildlife removal agents and should only be handled by trained professionals.

Raccoons in the attic

A raccoon in the attic is a sign that a female has or is trying to start a family. Once a raccoon has established a home in your attic it will start a family and for generations even after that original raccoon has gone her daughters their daughters will revisit birthing areas. So just trapping a raccoon is not enough.

Raccoons will use your attic insulation as a latrine or toilet. First in one spot then another and after years of use you end up with an attic full of raccoon poop.

How to get rid of a raccoon

How does one get rid of raccoons? Well one sure fire way is to hire a wildlife or nuisance animal control agent. Wildlife and animal control agents are trained to handle the issues and it can be extremely dangerous to confront a female raccoon with pups.

Trap a Raccoon in the yard

Ok so you have trapped a raccoon in the backyard. Now what do you do with it? Every year more and more homeowners are bit and have to have a rabies shot when trying to release and angered raccoon that has been trapped. It always better to have an experienced trapper to trap the raccoon or pest animal from your property.

Raccoon Poop in the attic

When raccoon species are found in the attic they will defecate or crap in the attic space. This raccoon shit or raccoon feces  can contain a round worm that can be fatal to humans , so it is important that once you are aware of a raccoon issue or raccoon conflict in your home that you not attempt to clean up the feces on your own.

Raccoon in the house or home
